Is Reiki a Religion?

Reiki the Tenshintai/Usui System is not a religion but can enhance the practice of any religion one practices. This is a way of enhancing the spiritual quality through practice. It requires no change in beliefs.
How is Reiki applied and practiced?

It is applied from one person to another or to yourself through the hands. Through a series of hand positions it balances the entire system of the body. This in turn can accelerate and support the body's natural ability to heal itself.

Reiki is passed from one person to the other through touch. It affects all levels of being and may have the following effects:

easing pain
reducing the effects of trauma and stress
Increasing the effectiveness of the immune system and the body's response to medication.
inducing a sense of calmness and balance.
expanding one's understanding of self and others.

Today it is being practiced all over the world as a Integrative Tool for Health and Wellness. It is ideal for Health Professionals because it enhances all other healing modalities and it is drugless.

Who can benefit from Reiki? All living beings can benefit from Reiki this includes plants and animals as well as people. Facts are everything is made of energy so we can explore the possibilities.

How is Reiki the Tenshintai/Usui System of Healing taught?

Reiki is taught in a class by a Master /Teacher who through a series of empowerments or attunements to open the practitioner to easily access the flow of Energy known as Reiki.

In a first level class a student can expect to learn basic hand positions for themselves and others as well a basic knowledge of the body and a in depth look at the spiritual principles that guide the practitioner in their practice. Most of these classes are taught in four 3hr periods over 2 to 3 days. This is so the practitioner has time to assimilate and integrate the attunements and time to practice and share experience of the system. Ethics are taught for the treatment of others and basic sanitation instructions. At this level the practitioner has enough knowledge and the complete system to start practicing right away .

The reiki principles are guidelines designed to help student and teacher to live a balanced lifestyle and to practice with integrity. Just as Hypocrates set "First Do No Harm" as a guideline for physicians so it is for Reiki Practitioners and Masters.

To move to the next level of Reiki , I as a teacher require 25 documented treatments and at least 6 months of practice.

Second Level is a deepening commitment to honor the practice and go deeper into one's own process of healing process, this will allow the practitioner to become healthier in mind and body so the integrity they bring to their practice can further help others. Second Level involves 2 more empowerments and the use of symbols to heal at a distance and for mental and emotional healing. Application of second level is also done in this class. There is practice and instruction of the meaning of the symbols plus practical applications for all around use and ethical guidelines for this practice. this is taught in four 4hr periods or 2 or 3 days

Add on Advanced Reiki Level II is an exploration into the Oriental Chakra System and the psycho energetics of the system.: meaning what it corresponds to in the body and what you may find in relationship to experiences held there. Also in this class deeper uses of the symbols are taught. This class in not required except for those seeking Mastership.

This level of requirement is to have at least 50 treatments before continuing on to Mastership training.

Mastership Level This is done in two levels:)

Level I: This is a 2 day class to open to Mastership training offering guidelines to working on Master level as well as an Attunement.

Level II: Is an apprenticeship of working to increase knowledge and experience and prelude to teaching. This level is for those students sincere in their practice of reiki and their intention to use it as a "Healing Art". This includes a period of at least one year in which you learn the basic skills of teaching the Tenshintai/Usui System with more understanding of it's origin and how to hold classes and what is required in theses classes and working with me to increase that awareness, more ethics in business and related areas. The ending of this requires another 3 day class to learn how to pass on the attunements and receive Master attunement.

Reiki is an integral part of living with nature and our own human nature. Life Works with Reiki has set guidelines to help in this process.

We endeavor to set a standard of teaching with integrity and still allow for personal and global growth.

Respect all groups seek understanding in conflict of interest .

Reiki Masters hold a sacred space for learning and growing for yourself and students

Be honest in all dealings whether in Reiki or community.

Be sincere in all your undertakings in Reiki.
